APPA A18 Plus Clamp Meter
APPA has packed a hugely appealing set of features into the A18 Plus and it is a stunning choice for applications where versatility is needed and the range of testing is all that an industrial environment can demand. Offering a hugely robust design that is shock tested from 1.2m, the Cat 4 600V unit offers AC and DC current readings to 600A via its 45 mm opening jaw.
As you would expect with such a meter, the AC Amps and Volts ranges work on the “AC + DC True RMS” principle, the only way to get any decent accuracy with non-symmetrical waveform distortion! It gets better....the APPA A18 Plus also includes a Power, Watts, Power Factor, Total Harmonic Distortion meter, and frequency counter to 4 kHz...WOW!! A 43 segment analogue bar graph completes a clean back-lit display but the extra goodies will really clinch the interest...things like inrush current reading, phase rotation, temperature reading are all there as they should be. In all, a very nice meter indeed for the industrial electrician working with motors, power-related testing, VSD’s and general control and drives assessment.
