Thermo-hygrometer PCE 555 for measuring the ambient air humidity 
Hand-held pocket-size instrument for measuring the ambient air humidity, the room temperature, the dew point and the wet-bulb temperature. This instrument has been designed for quick measurements of the ambient air moisture and the temperature. The dew point (dew point temperature) as well as the wet-bulb temperature will also be determined automatically. The measuring instrument can be used in the building industry and in the field of building services engineering to establish the formation of condensate on surfaces, to prevent mold formation, for analyses and for other purposes.

Wet bulb definition
If we pay attention to the wet thermometer temperature (wet bulb temperature), the same wet bulb temperature is always obtained with different temperature and relative humidity combinations: for instance, the same wet bulb temperature is obtained 10ºC for 20ºC and 23% Hr or for 15°C and  52% Hr, as well as many other combinations which are shown in the table for humidity meters. This fact is very important for the operation of conditioning installations due to the fact that the air which is located can be converted into one state or another without power supply. Taking into account an air mass at  20°C to 23% Hr and transforming water in water vapour without any external power supply, relative humidity increases at the same time that temperature decreases owing to the evaporation cold. All the states obtained during the evaporation process are near the line of the constant wet bulb temperature: at 52% Hr a 10°C temperature is reached. These changes are called adiabatic and are valued in the conditioning technique.
