Extech 42529 Wide Range IR Thermometer Details
Ideal for all kinds of surface temperature measurements, the Extech 42529 is a handheld, lightweight, pistol-shaped thermometer that uses infrared technology to calculate temperature measurements without the need to make contact with a surface.
To aid with making measurements of a targeted area as simple as possible the Extech 42529 also includes a built-in laser pointer to determine the spot for measurement. The thermometer reads the heat from this point, and relays the information as a temperature measurements (with accuracy of ±2% of reading) through the LCD screen on the tester.
The Extech 42529 is suitable for use in a wide variety of different applications, including measuring the heat of pipes and checking components in electrical panels/equipment to ensure excessive heat output is not being generated. It also features a large measurements range of 0 to 600°F (-20 to 320°C) so it's suitable for use in both cold and hotter conditions.
This thermometer features field of view of 6:1, which means at a distance of 6 metres from a target the device is able to measure across a 1" range. Additional features of the device also include switchable Celsius/Fahrenheit measurements, fixed emissivity for using the device on different surfaces and audible and visual indicators of overrange.
