This Extech multifunctional testing device can be used to both gain a measure of vibration levels and can also measures the overall speed and velocity of a piece of machinery via the use of a built in laser tachometer.
The vibration meter function of the Extech 461880 includes a remote vibration sensor that's attached to a 39" (1m) cable. This mode can measure acceleration, velocity and displacement on various different systems types and is a quick and easy way to check that machinery isn't vibrating excessively and isn't causing damage to internal components.
The tachometer that is built into the Extech 461880 utilises a laser to make sure that measurements of overall RPM can be carried out at a distance (up to 4.9ft - or 1.5m) away from the targeted application. This mode can measure photo RPM to 99999rpm, contact rpm to 19999rpm and surface speed from 0.2 to 6550ft/min (0.05 to 1999.9m/min).
All of the functions of this unit are built into a portable, lightweight and handheld tester that's easy to use with just one hand and ideal for porting from test to test. The 461880 includes a large LCD screen with parameters able to be displayed in different directions and the unit also contains several other advanced features.
